Deep Dive 5Deep Dive 5

Itinerary
Deep Dive 5

We start at 10 a.m. every day.

Monday
We start around 10 am in Morgedal and start hiking from the centre into the mountains. Wide comfortable trails, a bit of climbing (about half an hour) and descending, not too hard for the first day. Once at the top, the walk is easy and sloping. Soon we are out of civilization and we find ourselves in a mountain landscape with many pines, shiny lakes and peace.

Tuesday
We drive to a nearby village. There we will be brought to the starting location by a taxi, over an unpaved mountain road. The first half hour/3 quarter of an hour is a steep climb up. After that, the area is sloping in magnificent mountain scenery, where we pass several lakes, wade through swamp landscape, view the highest mountain in the area and partly walk through forests. At a number of points there are fantastic views into the valley. This tour is a pearl and very varied! In the afternoon the taxi is waiting for us again to take us back down.

Wednesday
Again we drive to a nearby village where the taxi takes us to the starting location. Today we will climb a top of a mini alpine mountain, a fantastic trip with beautiful views. The unique landscape here is characterized by flat, shiny and steep boulders. Characteristic bare and sanded rock walls dominate the landscape. A phenomenal view awaits us from the top, 360 degrees all around. The hike is not long but physically intense. At the end of the afternoon we leave for Rjukan to a campsite where we will stay in typical Norwegian cabins (or otherwise as desired).

Thursday
This day trip takes us to the Hardangervidda, the immense national park which mainly consists of mountain plateau, above the tree line. There we will disappear into no man's land with endless views, also on the 1883 meter high Gaustatoppen. Depending on the time of year, we may even encounter snow plains. There is a good chance that we will see the famous mountain lemmings during this trip.

Friday
As a finishing touch, we have a hike to a mountaintop over rugged terrain. We leave the Gaustatoppen to the left, because we are hiking into the mountain area here, to the mountain range between Kvitåvatn & Gaustablikk. The mountaintop showes a fantastic view towards Gaustatoppen, Tuddal and the mountain areas south of Telemark, on theseveral clear blue lakes. A fantastic ending!

In June 2022 we, our labrador Pleuntje, my husband and I, participated in the Deep Dive 5. It was also our first experience with Norway. And what an introduction! Overwhelmingly beautiful nature, also very varied, quiet and clean air. It exceeded all expectations. The group was pleasantly small, time for conversations but also time for silence. Great not to start too early in the morning, 5 days of the most beautiful walks, delicious packed lunch, enough breaks, sometimes groundbreaking, but in general doable. Anouk is a great guide who knows what she is talking about and who manages everything very well. I admire her way of life and this has certainly inspired me.

Thank you 🙏 Anouk en Taka & Lucy.

The Deep Dive 5, a setting that is actually tailor-made for us, with Niels Holgersson's stories in mind as a frame of reference...

So glad we were able to enjoy your expertise and good care.. you managed to "burden" us for 5 days with a wide range of views, nature, an unforgettable lunch and indelible memories ...

Such a fantastic experience and I don't just mean the beautiful, untouched, soothing and fascinating environment but also the experience of being able to share this positive energy with your own loyal friend (read .. four-legged friend) and like-minded people…

A prelude to more… :-). … and then I also speak on behalf of Roos … because if our physical condition allows it, the tent will come with us next year … 😉  although Roos needed at least 3 days to recover …

Together with my dog, Anouk and the rest of the group I made the Magic of the Fjells trip in Norway. For me it was a very nice experience. Norway has a varied landscape with mountains, lakes, waterfalls, forests, moors… and we have been everywhere! Anouk knows all the beautiful (secret) corners of Norway, corners that I would not have found myself.

What I really liked is that the dogs were well taken into account. They were allowed to get used to each other at their own pace. Anouk also checks how they are doing physically. If necessary, the program is adjusted, which I think is a nice idea, the well-being of the dogs comes first.

I hope to be able to join True Nature Trails again in the future. And Anouk will hopefully bring the beautiful weather with it again :).

Juni 2019 – The Grand Wilderness Experience

I have been back now for a week or two from my unforgettable hikingtrip in Norway. We hiked for six days in the Hardangervidda National Park in the southwest of this beautiful country.

This was an unforgettable trip! What a natural beauty! The tough efforts were rewarded again and again with great views. Sometimes we only covered a mile in an hour because no step was normal. Stones & rocks everywhere that you had to constantly step over or on, sometimes (quite) and long uphill or downhill, then again crossing a swirling river, occasionally interspersed with a swampy surface. I love that :-), suffer a bit with almost 20 kilos on your back and merge with nature. The merging then happens automatically. The resistance disappears, acceptance takes its place and the job is done, the fusion is there. How wonderful it is when you suddenly arrive at a mountain hut after a few days of hiking and staying overnight in a tent. Then you suddenly have a bed and a stove!!! How luxurious is that then! It's almost indescribable how you can appreciate that!

I was often touched by those amazing views. And Anouk's dogs who were completely in their element and seemed tireless. Anouk brought these beautiful animals from Romania or rather saved them. Both dogs have traded a tough past for a great life with this dog whisperer. Fantastic to see how humans and animals can be attuned to each other and how a human can read the body language of a dog so well. Anouk is one out of thousands: a lot of respect for this woman and what she has achieved with True Nature Trails.

The organization was arranged down to the last detail and the smallest details.
My luggage hadn't arrived but how we handled this together is something we can all be proud of.
I can say from my heart that this holiday was one to remember.
And last but not least: if you are adventurous, sporty and have a dog (although this is not necessary…): Book a trip with True Nature Trails

An unforgettable experience! Back to basic with your dog. Becoming one with nature, completely surrendering to the now. The rest is equally unimportant. Special to experience that. I really enjoyed traveling with a small group. Had interesting, valuable conversations with Anouk and my fellow travelers. Something to think about. The guidance is excellent, Anouk also stands her ground in unforeseen situations, keeps her calm and acts. Hats off. This trip made an incredible impression. Thank you.

An unforgettable journey with True Nature Trails. A journey that has connected me with my true nature, my true self. But also a journey that I can hardly put into words, so impressive, so intense. Hiking in Norway is truly wonderful.

Anouk is someone I could be completely myself with. The guidance was exceptionally good. The trip was taken care of down to the last detail. I got to know her as a good tour guide, her love and care for this earth and her dog Taka. She is a decisive, inspiring woman who stands firmly in her shoes.

The long walks threw me back on myself. This allowed me to pay attention to everything that lived in me. I feel it has brought me further in my consciousness.

The trip has inspired me immensely. I will be doing this more often! I really enjoyed being one with nature, the endless silence, drinking from lakes and rivers, waking up in a wide valley, seeing the mist lift in the morning, all the elements, the snow peaks, all back to basics . Even without a dog, this is an amazing trip! Thanks again Anouk for this unforgettable journey that I often think back on with a big smile!

Camping in the wild was just awesome!! The hiking was easier than I expected, very doable, if you trained well. Fun and educational assignments in between that I did not expect. The guidance of Anouk is very inspiring. I also liked the variety between the high mountainplateaus and the Norwegian forests. I will definitely go wild camping again with my dogs more often!

I found the environment and nature really beautiful! I even would have liked to hike longer, it was doable. Camping in the wild was also great. Sometimes I was touched by the assignments but it certainly also brought depth. I loved what other participants shared in the group.
The guidance was great! Relaxed, educational, profound and well-considered.
I take a lot of inner peace home with me and will make more time to enjoy nature at home. It was a wonderful trip with nice company, nice dogs, pure enjoyment.

What I especially liked is that everyone was given the time and space to be themselves. I found the guidance nice, clear and relaxed. I loved the wild camping, the places were really beautiful! I learned a lot from the trip and will definitely do it again.
